TWC staff educates
young children about wildlife |
Toronto Wildlife Centre puts a great deal of effort into providing educational resources for the public. We reach out to the public through the following areas of activity:
-
The Wildlife Hotline - The Wildlife Hotline, which receives tens of thousands of calls every year, is currently our primary means of reaching the public. Please visit the
Wildlife Hotline page to find out more about this unique service
-
Involvement in public events - We participate in public events such as Earth Day, Migratory Bird Day, and Cottagefest to reach out to as many members of the public as possible
-
Presentations - Our education staff offer special presentations for people of all ages. The educational opportunities we are beginning to offer for children help young people to understand and appreciate our natural heritage, as well as their role in maintaining environmental and wildlife health. We also regularly offer presentations for adults, mixed age groups, special interest and community associations
-
Networking - TWC works cooperatively with local, provincial, national and international organisations to ensure the best possible care for wildlife in need, and the highest quality educational resources for the public
